“Laoo”… new track, new inspiration

The newest edition to our studio is a vintage JX 8P Roland. Whether you have heard of this synthesizer or not, you have heard how it sounds, especially if you’ve ever listened to Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Van Halen, OMD, Kate Bush, The Cure, and many other 80’s artists.  I suppose if this keyboard grew up in the 80's and so did I, then we are both vintage!  Yay!

Jim and I put together this little ditty to demonstrate the warmth of this vintage analogue synth. Unfortunately, we did not want to highlight the fact that the sustain needs to be fixed, so we avoided piano patches or any sounds that would sound funky without being sustained.

This track also inspired me to begin a new project featuring lullabies from around the world. I am in the process of collecting songs and sheet-music while beginning to conceptualize the soundscapes! So, if you have any suggestions or ideas please message me below!

I am super excited about this project because lullabies totally represent where we are in this sleepless season of life. Hopefully, we won’t put ourselves to sleep in the process!

xoxo L
